Identify the need
Local leaders, schools, Ambassadors and communities help identify water-access challenges and practical priorities.
Fresh Water Worldwide is expanding a simple mission: help communities gain practical access to cleaner, safer water while connecting technology, local leadership, education and kindness.
The work begins with community needs, not a single technology. Fresh Water Worldwide can support different approaches depending on the location—from boreholes and filtration to desalination and atmospheric water generation.
Local leaders, schools, Ambassadors and communities help identify water-access challenges and practical priorities.
Projects can be evaluated for groundwater access, filtration, portable treatment, desalination or other appropriate water technologies.
Volunteers, partners, donors and distributors can help turn a water need into a sustainable local project.
Lessons from successful community projects can be adapted to other regions rather than assuming one model fits everywhere.
The right solution depends on source water, geography, infrastructure, scale, local regulations and project resources.
Groundwater and community-access projects can provide a dependable local water point while also creating a place for learning, connection and service.
Portable filtration can support travel, emergency preparedness and selected water-treatment needs where compact point-of-use filtration is appropriate.
Coastal, island and saline-water locations may require desalination systems designed around source-water testing, volume, energy and local operating requirements.
In suitable climates, systems that collect moisture from the air may provide another option where conventional water infrastructure is limited.
The original program treats a borehole as more than infrastructure. Each water point can become a gathering place where communities connect, kindness classes are held and positive stories are shared.
Three fruit trees surrounding the gathering area symbolize the Foundation's Three Commitments to Kindness and create shade, comfort and a visible reminder of the program's values.

Fresh Water Worldwide is also presenting a compact filtration-straw concept intended for portable point-of-use water treatment. The underlying CleanSip design has been marketed for years and uses a combination of micro-filtration, activated carbon and a copper/zinc filtration medium.
Monte's direction for Fresh Water Worldwide is broader than fundraising: people should be able to bring projects forward, help distribute solutions, support communities and join the working team.
